SPAIN 3 – 7 / MARCH / 2010
The third meeting for Markus Project had been taking place in Spain from 3rd to 7th of march 2010.There were teachers and students from partner schools in Poland (Specjalny Osrodek Szkolno Wychowawczy from Przemysl)., Portugal (Santa Catarina Da Serra), Portugal (Figuerio Dos Vinhos) and host school in Spain (Arroyo de La Luz-Luis de Morales). The trip to Spain was an exciting cultural experience for all participants. The main aim of the meeting was to present the traditional legend or a story which represents each country. The students from Arroyo de la Luz had performed their legend on the stage. The performance about The Mountain Girl had met with a big applause. The other stories and legends had been shown on dvds. The visit was a a wonderful opportunity for students and teachers to learn about unique and important places in Spanish history. One of them is the old city of Caceres. The city figures in tourist networks such as the ‘’Group of Word Heritage Cities of Spain”. On the second day the whole group went to see Vostell Museum which is situated in the stone reserve called ‘’Los Barruceos’’. There everyone was impressed with an amazing view of the lake surrounded by huge stones.Additional attraction was a donkey ride around the reservation area. Equally beautiful place we could see was National Monfrague Park with different species of birds like eagles, owls, vultures, cormorants. It was a big fun to watch them through binoculars. Totally different character had a trip to Merida and Trujillo. In Merida we had visited Roman theatre from 16 b.C,an amphiteatre from 8b.C and aqueduct . It was easy to imagine the place how it looked over 2thousands years ago. In Trujillo we could see the statue of Francisco Pizarro the conquistador of Peru and arabic castle from 11th centuary. The meeting was an unforgetable experience for all participants. It was a real lesson of culture, tradition, history, geography and Spanish language of course.
